How much water should
YOU drink a day?
Use this formula to determine how much water you should drink a day to achieve optimum hydration:
- Current Weight (in lbs) x 0.66 oz = Number of Oz. / Day
- Add one more 8 oz glass for every cup of coffee or alcoholic beverage consumed
For example: I weigh 200lbs
(200lbs x. 0.66oz = 132 oz)
132oz divided by 8oz = 16.5 cups of water per day
I have 2 cups of coffee a day, which adds two cups of water to my daily intake, therefore I must drink 18.5 cups of water per day.
**Each day add 2 or 3 cups of water per day to give the body time to adjust to the increase in water. |
